Chocolate Banana Bread
Take homemade banana bread to another level by adding chocolate chips or ever better, chopped semi-sweet chocolate. The batter is made before the oven is preheated – it’s that easy.

I’m one of those people that claims chocolate as my sixth food group… it just makes me happy. That being said, any recipe you can add chocolate to is something I will definitely make in my kitchen. The chocolate chunks and chunks of ripe banana make a combination that is delicious – especially right out of the oven. The chocolate melts through this Chocolate Banana Bread just like it does a warm chocolate chip cookie. It’s oh. so. good.
Are you a fan of banana bread? Here’s an easy recipe that will have you waiting for your bananas to turn brown.

Mixed and baked to perfection in under an hour.
This Chocolate Banana Bread is perfect for a quick, homemade breakfast, or for a quick grab any time of day.
Anything straight out of the oven is delicious, but this is also a great snack at room temperature. I generally heat a slice in the microwave for 15-20 seconds in the morning and slab it with butter, but it is great all by itself. My best tip to keep optimal moisture in this bread is to always keep it covered, whether it be wrapped in foil or assembled nicely on a cake stand.
In my house, any time I want to get rid of something in my kitchen I just put it in plain view. It’s sure to be grabbed by anyone passing by. This Chocolate Banana Bread is also beautiful when baked and perfect to put out on your kitchen countertop.
My husband also eats this and our regular banana bread recipe covered in homemade apple butter.
Have you ever tried to make homemade apple butter? I still can’t believe how easy it is, and I am alll about easy. Here’s the recipe for that as well.
Homemade Slow Cooker Apple Butter
Make with apples and just a few spices you likely already have in your kitchen.

There are just a few easy steps.
Step 1
After spraying a loaf pan with nonstick spray, preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Combine your wet ingredients: The melted butter, brown sugar, egg and vanilla.

Step 2
Using a masher, mash up your ripened bananas. Don’t overdo it: There should still be some small chunks of banana, with the mixture being a lumpy consistency.
Add the bananas to your wet mixture.

Step 3
Stir together the dry ingredients: Flour, baking soda and salt.

Step 4
Add your dry ingredients to your wet ingredients. Fold in your chocolate chips or chopped semi-sweet chocolate.

Step 5
Put your Chocolate Banana Bread batter into a loaf pan and into the oven. Sprinkle the top with cinnamon and sugar or just sugar, whichever you prefer.

Step 6
Bake at 350 degrees for about 35-40 minutes.
TIP: The bake time may vary based on what type of loaf pan you use. For glass pans, the time seems to be less than a coated pan.
It’s so beautiful.
Let your bread cool on a baking rack for a few minutes in the loaf pan. After a few minutes you should be able to flip the loaf over onto the baking rack and turn back over for complete cooling.
